You don't want to edit the size of the original image. Save the image as a separate copy. Add 'thumbnail' or something similar to the end of the copy of the image (i.e. Use the following steps to create a copy of the image: Click File; Click Save As. Type a name for the image next to 'Filename'. Deceptive advertising is the use of false, misleading, or unproven information to advertise places to Roblox users or advertising as a bait-and-switch mechanism. One form of deceptive advertising is to put a thumbnail of a game while the game is different. A developer of a misleading advertisement most likely has malicious intents, such as trying to get ratings or become famous online.

Starting today (Friday, February 3), we are changing the default thumbnail system. This change will not affect those who have custom game icons and thumbnails. But if you rely on the default/auto-generated thumbnails, it will be replaced with a random selection from one of twelve new default icons.

How To Change Thumbnail On Roblox Game

If you prefer using your old default thumbnail, switching back is easy and completely free. We are also reducing the overall cost for adding thumbnails to help everyone find a fresh game icon they enjoy.

Here is a synopsis of the upcoming changes and what they mean for the community:

1. Auto-generated thumbnails are no longer default
2. You can switch back to an auto-generated thumbnail for free once it has been reviewed by the Roblox moderation team
3. Existing custom icons will be unchanged
4. The overall cost to update thumbnails is being reduced from 20 Robux -> 10 Robux

Currently, the ROBLOX Games page is undergoing a major overhaul that will make the page cleaner, easier to navigate, and provide space for even more games to be showcased. Part of this page makeover are the new Game Icons that will appear instead of the current thumbnails. Icons are square images that are meant to act more as logos for your games.

Why the change to icons? Square game icons allow for a maximum amount of items to be displayed both horizontally and vertically per page. Square icons are also a much friendlier image ratio for your players who use a mobile device. Game icons stand out against all other screenshots and video of your game. Game icons could become your “app icon” – a direct link to your game – placed anywhere within ROBLOX in future updates. Think of the icons in the iOS App Store, or on Steam, and that should give you a good idea of the concept.

The new Games Page is live for nearly everyone, and you can upload your Game Icon right now from the game configuration screen. If you head into Configure This Place from any of your games, you’ll see a Game Icon option right above Thumbnail. From there you can upload a square, 512×512 pixel image.

Game Icons are free to upload, but you can only have one per game. Uploading a new Game Icon will replace the old one.

For the games that don’t have Icons, a screenshot of your game will automatically be captured as the icon, much in the same way the default Thumbnail system works.

If you don’t pick an icon, a screenshot of your game will automatically be selected. Though as you can see, you’ll probably want something better in place.
